Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2017 - 2018 school year.  My name is Sandra Verduzco and I am so honored to be the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School.  It has been a pleasure to meet and get to know the students, parents and families that make up this wonderful community.  I am especially pleased to be part of a distinguished group of teachers and staff committed to providing the best possible education for every child in a safe, learning, respectful, and nurturing environment.

You, as parents, are the most critical part of our school success.  You take an active and crucial role in providing an atmosphere that promotes education and quality work habits.  Your support provides the foundation for students to come ready to learn each and every day.  There are many ways you can be involved at Roosevelt Elementary School.  Check out our fantastic PTA and I encourage you to become an active member.  I welcome you to volunteer in our classrooms and school activities as well as parent councils.  My door is always open.  I appreciate your input and look forward to working with you and your child this school year.  Working together as a TEAM will lead to your child’s journey to SUCCESS.

Attendance Counts

Attendance matters as early as kindergarten. The attendance rate is important because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It's difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if a large number of students are frequently absent.
